I contacted Steve Salguero to build a patio in my house. We met and he gave me the quote, showed me a presentation and we signed a contractor agreement. He requested money in advance which I gave him. As soon as that advance was given he started making up excuses not to come and start the buildout. After multiple messages and phone calls he managed to deliver some materials to the house, came for a couple of hours to take down the old patio-which he only did because the recycling of the material would allow him to get more cash-. He then sent his wife to paint some of the delivered wood, perhaps 4 hours of labor in total. Again disappeared and when called or messaged he would make up more excuses about personal problems and family issues. He came again for the last time, did some work and requested additional money for the concrete work. That was the last time he came. I kept calling and texting him about giving the money back or finishing the work and this never happened. Total loss $9,000
