Someone on Facebook posted about Lumen hiring for fully remote positions. I contacted the person via Facebook Messenger about the job opportunity. They asked me to download Google Chats to be able to talk to the hiring manager and I did. They gave me an email address and interview code to message the hiring manager once I added them on Google chats. I followed their directions and was connected to someone who claimed to be Amanda Ford from Lumen, and even sent me a photo of their ID badge. The interview was conducted over Google chats. They gave me all the details of the job including that they would provide the equipment needed for the position if I got hired. At the end of the interview she said that I would have to pay $60 for the shipping of the equipment and $40 for the background check they would need to conduct on me. Said that this amount would be reimbursed to me in my first paycheck. Then said they needed to forward the conversation to someone else and would get back to me. Contacted me about 9 minutes later saying my score for my interview was ready and I scored a 94% in the interview and was hired. I asked why I needed to pay and they stopped talking to me.
