I responded to a Facebook post advertising a job. The post was for a data entry job to work from home. I immediately responded and the person who posted sent me the recruiter’s phone number and the interview code. She told me to download Signal (a messaging app). I downloaded Signal and started communicating with the recruiter. He said the interview would be text to text. He gave me information on Luxoft, the job, benefits, etc. The interview questions was a bit extensive. Roughly over 20 questions. They asked me what bank I banked with, phone carrier. They asked me previous work responsibilities, how long I aimed to work for the company, etc. They asked for my email, address, ID, and a picture. All of that was sent through email to [email protected] They requested SSN, however I did not give them that. I did give them my business EIN number as I wanted to be on a 1099. My name, email, address is also in the text messages on Signal. I received a hire / appointment letter from the hiring board email. I was requested to purchase a physical Apple gift card. They said I would be reimbursed the next day. However, not once did they request nor did I give banking information such as routing number and account number. According to the recruiter who identified himself on Signal as Nathan Ekola, I would start training as soon as my equipment arrived. I would also receive a tracking ID for the shipment.
