Scammer inquired about puppy I listed for sale online on PuppyFinders. Then I received FedEx envelope from Hood Container in St.Francisville, La (they had no record of sending this when I spoke to accounting) with a check from Greenberg’s Jewelers in Sioux City, IA (they said they did not issue check and they had one other recent incident of a fake check reported). Puppy asking price was $1000; check sent was for $3070.50. Scammer said his secretary made a mistake. I deposited to my Arvest Bank savings account; they reported back it was fraudulent. I lied and told scammer deposit was successsful; he asked me to transfer money to account holder Lynn Mayer, Cornerstone Bank, routing #211371735, acct #4762313743. I told him bank wanted driver’s license, he didn’t provide. I offered to mail money order; he gave me address of Lynn Mayer, 19 Harris St., Apt 3, Webster, MA 01570. He had previously told me he lived in Missouri, that his name is Johnson, and Lynn Mayer is his veterinarian/family friend.
