Type of a scam Online Purchase
I made this purchase on November 19th and was tricked into making an additional purchase because it didn't seem like my first order had gone through. I don't like companies that do this so I immediately reached out to them to cancel. Amelia C. with ElaraCraft emailed me back and said that they would cancel it immediately and that I should have my money returned within 7 to 10 business days.
2 weeks later I get the package with everything I had ordered so I reached out to them to get an update on my refund and they basically said "too bad it already shipped out you won't get a refund". After going back and forth with them several times via email they would not admit to their fault even though I have proof in email with the same person's name attached to it that they said they would cancel it and they did not. Obviously I'm mad about this because I didn't want their product and now I'm being told that if I try to return it it's going to cause me more trouble than necessary and it would cost more. The said the most they could do is refund $70 which means they would still be making a profit since the product is clearly extremely cheap to make and they are probably doing things like this all the time to get money from people little by little.
They confirmed the cancelation and then sent the items anyway and refused to refund me more than 70% of what I paid and that is not acceptable.
I disputed this with my bank and got my money back and yesterday saw a pending charge from ElaraCraft again that I DID NOT authorize. The bank should have frozen my card, but they didn't, so I had to go into the bank today and have them get rid of all of my cards on file and issue new ones. I will be disputing the charge once again which is really annoying, but I'm not letting those scammers have my money.
They obviously weren't happy that I rightfully got all of my money back and charged my card again which is just super scummy and illegal.
I want to ensure that this company is publicly called out and potentially even shut down if need be. On Amazon you can get a set of their lashes for $10 but I was charged the $42 for a BOGO offer. Dishonest pricing, poor quality product, horrible business ethic. The product doesn't even work and looks more fake than dollar store false eye lashes. I'm positive I am not the only person who has had issues with ElaraCraft but hopefully I'll be one of the last.
