I went to pay for a business transaction as a friend, when I put in the persons email the phony email popped up for me to pay the person for services, which ended up paid to someone in Great Britain. I and the person I thought I was paying live in Michigan. All PayPal was willing to do was “ask the person to give it back”. PayPal will not further investigate or refund me my money, because I did not pay for the “services option” which to me is clearly a scam to me the consumer. How many other consumers are being tricked through PayPal?
For your investigation records, we have a Incident number: 83C52538U48685934 November 2, 2024 to Covenant Renovations payable to: [email protected] ( which was the email address that popped up as I was typing into the PayPal system to pay this transaction, IT WAS THE WRONG EMAIL) the scammer used the same face of the person I was to pay, but the correct two numbers on the correct email should have been 12 instead of 17. I’ve been scammed and want to be issued a refund by PayPal and other consumers whether a senior citizen or other consumer needs to be alerted to this problem.
