They trick people into thinking they are buying product X and then Makeupstores.com sends whatever they want.
In my case, I ordered a hair color that is difficult to find in the US. The hair color description was written only in the picture they show on their website. The order confirmation had the same picture but under the brand's name it had a number. Well, the number with no explanation was the color they send. My guess is that they send whatever they have in stock. I contacted them and they did reply and put me in touch with the claims department. They told me that the pictures on their website are "demonstrative" (sic) and the color was the number with no description. Therefore, they sent what I ordered because the number was on my receipt. I told them that the color and the right number of what I bought were described in the picture of the product's box (only thing that had a written explanation of the color). However, they refused to send me a pre-paid return label and refund me what I paid.
They wanted me to pay for the return and gave me a return address, 600 Markley Street, Woodbridge Township, NJ, 07064. I Googled it and it is associated with ebay scammers! The same thing with the phone number on their website :-(
I'm so careful about scams that I cannot believe I felt for this... probably it was the Italian product that I love so much so I did not see the red flags :-(
