Gabriel Ramos advertised mamitas taco catering business on my local Facebook market book page. I was having a large 40th birthday party over Labor Day for 120 people and got an estimate for the catering. I called other places and they were similarly priced but Mr. Ramos had everything in writing and sent a contract. He asked for 50% down to hold the date and I venmoed him. A couple days before the event he clarified menu choices and amount of people and asked for the remainder. I foolishly paid him again over venmo. The day of the event he was in contact, asking about food. He said he was in the hospital but he had everything taken care of staff wise. I called when they were late. Said run I g 40 minutes late. That continued for the next 3 hours. I eventually pulled everything out of my fridge and freezer for my 120 guests as people were leaving. I missed hearing the band I hired because I was cooking. A single person pulled up 4 hours late after everyone had eaten and brought subpar food, none of it looking like the display and with big items missing from our contractual agreement.. like drinks and cilantro, plates/silverware/cups/napkins.

I consider this a no show. He said he would refund full amount, but only paid $500 back. I asked for payment back over venmo where I had made payment to his wife, but he would only do it in person. I looked him up and he has charges for a $500,000 Ponzi scheme. His communication was so disturbing, and late in the middle of the night that I finally had to block him.
