On December 26th, I saw an ad online for a store that was “going out of business after 27 years.” They were having a big sale, and were advertising a pair of pants with flowers that looked nice. I went to the website to purchase them – which I did, for $49.95. However, after looking at the size chart, I realized that they would be too big. When I went back to their website to try to cancel the order – as one can usually do – there was no way for me to do that. That’s when I realized something was not right: the address on their website was not a real address. When I looked it up on Google Maps, it was an intersection in Los Angeles, not a store or any kind of real address. Furthermore, the phone number listed was missing a number. I realized it was a scam. Then, when I emailed them to try to cancel the order, they said that was impossible.
I was upset about this, especially after realizing that it was not what it said it was. I found a post on Trust Pilot about how it was a scam. Then I found posts on Reddit about a scam business known as “Jordan Toronto.” And then I got a message that my order had shipped from “Jordan Toronto.”
I don’t want the pants anymore because 1) they are displayed as jeans, but according to all of the messages online I read by women who have bought these pants – the pants that show up are not in fact what they are displayed as. Rather, they are made cheaply, in China – and are not worth the $50 I spent. 2) The business is not “going out of business after 27 years,” but in fact an old scam business that has refashioned itself to scam more people out of their hard earned money.
I do not trust that they will refund me, as several posts online detailed how the refunds were impossible to make happen since the phone number listed is not a real number. I am an artist who lives in Asheville, NC – and dealing with the destruction of Hurricane Helene has been hard enough – not to mention the money I lost from being displaced for a month. I do not want to spend my money on something that isn’t what it says it is. I want my money back. Please help.
I got the pants in the mail and they probably cost .50 cents to make. They are basically made of plastic, and not what was advertised.
Please let me know if there is anything else you need. They should be shut down.
