I had been searching job websites to find new employment. Even some work from home sites. All without much success. Then I randomly (along with several numbers, I noticed) received a text asking if anyone was looking to do housekeeping. I responded & was told that they lived in the Dominican Republic but were to be moving to Wichita Falls, Texas in the near future. She is 3 months pregnant with their second child. She claims to be employed by the FTO Fair Trade Organization as a Consultant Agent. Supposedly arriving in the US on 7/8/21. They said they were moving into a 3 bedroom apartment & wanted it painted & cleaned & the pantry stocked prior to their arrival. Then she explained what to clean. In a later text she mentioned that they hadn't actually secured a place to live yet. When I asked why the need to paint an apartment she hadn't even seen yet, I was ignored. Then she/he contacted me again via email saying the realtor would send the address & keys to my address. She said they would be overnighting me a check for $2600. I did in fact find a FedX envelope on my porch 6/28/21 with a check for $3680. They asked for my address, name, age & phone number. I did give them that much information, before I got the check, etc. When the check was more than originally spoken of & they had not even checked my references, I got concerned that this was indeed a scam, so I took the letter & check to my local BBB. She told me immediately that it was indeed a scam & to discontinue all contact with them & to come onto this website to report it. I blocked them from my texts & have not returned any further contact. I hope they don't have enough information about me to make life miserable, but at least I didn't lose any money.

The check was drawn on a Bank of America Hartford out of San Antonio,Texas. The account drawn from USAA Casualty Insurance Company. A lot of confusing/conflicting info.
