I received a priority mail envelope containing a supposed cashier's check for $1,980.00 and a letter stating that it was in response to my application to become a secret shopper with Kroger. I had not applied for any such job. The instructions were for me to keep $400 and buy $1,500 worth of Ebay gift cards from multiple stores, send them photos of the gift cards, and wait for instructions for the next assignment.

The "official letter" was sent from David Jile, Head of Recruitment/ coordinator/customer service analyst inc.
