Marlin Gun Shop purports to sell Marlin rifles and magazines. Their website, marlingunshop.com, has no business address or phone number, yet claims to offer 24-hour support. When other local and online gun shops are struggling to fill their inventories, Marlin Gun Shop claims to have everything in stock. In email contact, Marlin Gun Shop will sometimes say its name is "Marlin Gun Store," sometimes "Marlin Gun Shop." Their email correspondence has poor grammar, which, in light of all the other issues, is suspicious -- example: "Kindly let us know if you have set up your Zelle account to complete payment. So that we can provide our payment details for you to complete the payment."

When making a purchase, your name, address, phone number, and email address are collected. You'll later receive an email from [email protected] saying your order is being processed, but that it cannot be finalized until you set up payment with Zelle (specifically, www.zellepay.com). Once you set up a Zelle account, you're supposed to inform them via email, after which Marlin Gun Shop sends you another email address and name. To complete my payment, Marlin Gun Shop sent me, and I quote:

Email: [email protected]

Names: SHATAIGWA

When I responded asking for some way for them to demonstrate that they were a legitimate business and not a scam, they did not respond.
