two man with british accents wearing construction vests driving an older model gold ford explorer knocked on the door around 845am on s friday morning and claimed to have leftover asphalt from a job in the area. they said they didn’t want it to go to waste and were looking for people in need of driveway repairs and would repave the driveway for $1/sqft. they would not give a verbal estimate saying they weren’t sure if they had enough to finish the job and told me not to worry. they were extremely pushy. before i could say no they spraypainted “new” on the driveway and called their associates. those guys showed up in a white pickup tried and also had british accents. they were gone within an hour but came back about 11am saying that they had to put down three coats so the price had to go up. they asked for $1950, but said if i wrote a check for $1200 they would call it even. the man asked me to write a check to “martin cooke, cook with an e”.
