Hello, my name is ***** ******. I am an active duty sailor in the Navy stationed in Portsmouth, VA. I’ve posted quite a bit of MetaZoo cards I’ve been buying and collecting and all of a sudden I get a message on Instagram from Mason LaPointe-Foster. Tells me he has a MetaZoo Cryptid Nation 1 box for sale for $600. Decent deal, I asked for pictures and he had sent me photos of a box and a video of a CN1 box. In return I Cashapp him $300 and send him some Pokémon items for a trade to equal out $600. That night after talking to him for multiple hours, I decided it was legit and cash app him $300. He received it and began to tell me he will ship off my item the next day. He messages me again a photo of him walking into FedEx with the box and says he is shipping it. I get a tracking number and said information had been received. The next couple days I get together my boxes and paper to wrap the Pokémon items I’m about to send him and ship it off the next day. Once I do and let him know, he acknowledges and beings to tell him I should receive my item soon. The next day I check the tracking on FedEx to see where my item could be and noticed it said item picked up at location, the day I shipped my items off, 2 days after he had told me he already shipped it. Now yesterday I noticed on my USPS tracking number for the items I had sent him, it says delivered. So I go to our messages and ask him if everything is in perfect condition and notice I can’t find his account or our messages anywhere. Myself and my wife tried to search his name and account and nothing had been popping up. I started to think something definitely isn’t right. So I ask my group chat of MetaZoo if they know who this individual is and they begin to tell me almost everyone had gotten a message from him asking to buy his CN1 box. Unfortunately no one had the money at the time for it. They begin to explain this individual in a scammer and has been doing this for awhile now. I had posted a picture of him and his name on my Instagram and began to get a lot of messages from people I’ve never met or talked to explaining the same story. Same prices, locations, and scams. I’m active duty and really can’t afford to miss $300 without anything to show for it. I had report his account to cash app as well but believe they take 0 liability in the situation. Please help me get this individual and my money back. I had received an empty boxn.
