I came across this website which looks professionally put together. I contacted this breeder for a dachshund puppy. They responded with a decent and reasonable group of questions. Not out of the ordinary for a breeder who wants to place puppies in a good home along with pictures and a video they said were taken 4 days ago. The red flags went up when I asked for proof of breeder registration or puppy registration from the AKC ( which they state on the site is where the pups are registered) they told me they can not and will not provide this until the purchase is made. I have bought two other pure bred dogs and have never had a breeder respond in this way. I explained that there are scams on the internet and I want to protect myself and my purchase. They said they cannot go through with selling me a puppy otherwise. This was a red flag for me. So I “complied” and said fine I will take proof of dam registration, which again is a reasonable request from an interested buyer. And then asked what form of payment they take. They said Zelle, Venmo or an American Express gift card that I can get from CVS. Big Red flag.

They declined to provide proof of registration of dam. I knew at this point it was a scam but wanted further proof. I said me and my husband would be happy to fly to Montana and pick up the puppy at which they said yes no problem and then requested I send a $300 payment via AMERICAN EXPRESS gift card as a deposit. Another red flag. I responded with an email letting them know I think they are scam artists because of all the red flags. And will not be contacting them further. If they are as experienced as their website states providing proof should not be an issue as I have never had an issue with a legitimate breeder before.

A few other red flags had to do with grammatical errors which doesn’t seem like a huge deal, I am sure there are some in this that I am writing now. However, these were English language errors that are not common amongst Americans indicating that this might be an out of country scam.

The phone number listed on the site is text now , which is a texting app. Another indication of a scam.

They asked for full address, phone number as well. I did not provide this information.

I looked on ScamPulse.com to see if anyone else is reported this as a scam site and low and behold there was one. This is definitely a scam.

The person uses the name Tyler Alderman with [email protected] for payment. Please do not send this person money or trust them.
