This email is being sent to you in regards to our moving experience. We were severely under quoted at a price of ~$1,900 and for a white glove move starting on the 2nd of January 2024 with a 7-9 day delivery period. The pickup and drop off locations were given at time of quote. The location of drop off was not throughly investigated by Jeff, Master Mover’s, the woman who was openly disgruntled and extremely unprofessional, and the person only known as “the manager” who refused to give us his name and who was irate and displayed an unethical, unprofessional and borderline extortionist attitude.
We were called by a woman who didn’t identify herself and sounded verbally apathetic when told that the move date she was verifying was incorrect. (Forth of January 2024, instead of the second of January) and was not what we agreed to and signed to. She told us it had to be that day. We refused and demanded to speak to a manager, to which she refused to oblige. She called back and said ok I got it moved to the 2nd of January between 4-7pm. I told her that was unacceptable as we were vacating as of Noon on the second, I asked again to speak to a manager to discuss the observed incompetence. She refused our request and said she’d call us back.
The following day after no call back, we called her and she again refused to let us speak to a manager but assured us it would be picked up between 7-8am and that it was just a miscommunication between her and her manager. The final communication with her and agreed upon date happened on the 30th of December 2024 at night. We received a phone call later on the 31st from the mover, stating that they would be there in 30 minutes. We told him that was a no go and that the move agreed upon was the second and the stranger on the phone yelled at us and accused us of lying; He hung up the phone to talk to his manager, then called us back and said sorry so sorry yes we are wrong it is for the 2nd can you please move the 1st, to which we initially said we couldn’t do it but he pleaded that he needed us to do this because he came from California and it was easier for his schedule, to which we regrettably obliged his request out of the kindness of our hearts.
In our haste for fulfilling his pleas to us, I had a slip and fall accident outside of my apartment and spent the majority of the night in writhing pain in the ER with my pregnant wife. Fast forward to the next morning where we were ill prepared due to the haste and injury from this situation imposed upon us. So, we overslept and missed the drivers initial call. He stated he was still on the way, needed our address and would be there soon. A group of men show up, looked at our stuff and said anything smaller than a small lamp, needed to be in a box and that they wouldn’t charge us for packing or supplies.
I went outside and moved my car so they could park against the curb, to which they remained in the street blocking cars which later became an issue. They again stated it was policy to box every single item and that we already agreed to that in the fine print. Upon very frustratingly and haphazardly boxing all of our worldly possessions in visibly soaked and damaged boxes, they then took everything that couldn’t fit in the prepaid space, and staged it on the pavement blocking traffic and impeding residents.
The mover boss, once filling our designated space within the trailer, called me outside to show only one room had been in the truck, barely. He stated for a fee he can unload everything and we can pick it up ourselves and find someone else, otherwise he would try his best to make it as cheap as possible. We had no choice but to agree as every thing we owned was boxed and placed outside in the in-climate weather.
Once the truck was loaded the mover boss, picks out a piece of paper and starts arbitrarily scribbling numbers of charges without explanations to seemingly explain the significant increase in price, in front of me. When he stated that the move was over $8,000, over a 400% increase from their best “estimate”, I gasped and said there’s no way. He said I’m sorry, we accept visa, master card, Zelle or Cash and check. I told him to wait while I secured the funds considering the astronomical change in price, to which he agreed and stated I can accept a post dated check.
I agreed and had to access the safe which was out side and wrapped in plastic in the street. I had them remove the plastic, they took two steps back, not respecting my privacy and looming over me speaking a language I do not understand, assuming Spanish, while watching my back and the safe. I felt uneasy and almost asked for help from the one right behind me because it took 10 minutes to close the safe from all of the ammo, guns and cash I had in it.
Halfway through our road trip, we noticed the wire transfer from one account to the account with the post dated check, didn’t process. I sent an email to “Jeff” and he simply generically replied, that the move is in the hands of dispatch and gave a number and that he is no longer able to help us.
All of the actions that have occurred so far, have amounted to overwhelming skepticism in the care that was not being taken for our possessions and our financial wellbeing as consumers. As a result of his reply, our confidence was dwindling but nonetheless, I called the number given. A woman, answered the phone with hello. I stated is this the moving company? She said, yes. I asked to speak to a manager and she blind transferred me somewhere to a very disgruntled woman who asked what we needed. I started by saying that the transfer didn’t go through and we need wire instructions to make it right, then I started asking for grace considering the price gouge and events that have occurred and she started immediately screaming, “OH YOU HAVE NO MONEY, YOU CANT PAY, IM TURNING THE TRUCK AROUND IMMEDIATELY RIGHT NOW, YOU CAN PICK UP YOUR STUFF IN CALIFORNIA.” She was irate and interrupting me at every chance as I calmly asked her ma’am, that is not what I’m saying please allow me the opportunity to correct the misunderstand, to which she hung up on me.
We immediately tried to call back when we saw the phone number, from the man known only as “the manager”, We hung up and answered his call and he said, “What?” I said, “are you with the moving company?” He replied, “yea, what?” I informed him of the events that have transpired and he would not let me finish, immediately interjecting and becoming fractious. I said, “Sir, I’m on your team I just want to get you your money. Please send me wiring instructions.” He immediately calmed down upon hearing the information and said, “I sent a text please confirm”, to which we complied. He then hung up and sent a text saying “send screenshots when it’s done.” We sent the best screenshot we had and it said pending. He got very upset and said, “Its not good, it’s not going through!” We received an immediate call from our banks fraud department checking everything and validating the transfer to which he very quickly and successfully processed. We sent the pictures to “the manager” and said, “It’s done.”, he said, “It’s still pending” and we informed him what happened and that we were told it would transfer soon.
Upon arriving in West Virginia, late the evening of the 4th, we immediately went to bed tired from our cross country journey. We awoke to a text that arrived very late after we went to bed. It had instructions, a time of arrival of 4pm the 5th, later that day. We received a call from that same number saying, “I have your stuff, what is your address.” I verified he was indeed a mover, and gave him the address. He called back later, saying, “Just text me the address”, to which I did. Then, suddenly, I received a burst of 3 texts saying: “Ok” then followed by “I can't find help in that city, do u know anyone I can pay to help unload.” And finally a “?”
When I didn’t immediately respond, Immediately taken aback by the request to seemingly unload myself with my pregnant wife or find someone to pay to help assist in this white glove, $8,000 service. I called the man known formally as “The manager”. He answered “What!”, I replied with my name, move number and events that have transpired and he screamed over me saying: “SEND ME PICS!” over and over until I said ,”SIR!”, very sternly stating that I would and he said “Ok do it now and I’ll call you back” then he hung up.
Around 3:45 approximately while walking my ESA dog with my wife, my phone suffered an accident and needed immediate replacement, we had still not received any response from anyone involved thus far; We knew, they had my wife’s phone number, so we felt confident in getting a replacement. Both of us went to the store and took the opportunity to get a new phone.
When we arrived home, we saw 2 men standing by a small U-Haul and we jokingly stated, “No way that is for us!” A foreign man with a thick European accent, came out of the darkness smoking a cigarette and got into our faces asking if that apartment was ours. We said, We don’t know who you are or what you’re doing here, if you are truly who we hired, we are going inside to speak to “the manager” who was a man with a thick Hispanic accent. The European man stated, “We have been here for hours we have your [censored].” We did not respond and went inside to call “the manager”.
All the while, I was sent 17 texts repeating the same text of “Driver is at your house with his guys”. He was very audibly upset, which I can understand some degree from not receiving a response, however again, I was puzzled at his frustration because they had my wife’s cell number the whole time and refused to contact her as a back up, so they had been waiting for two hours, purposefully.
We were 6 minutes away at all times and could’ve been there in the blink of an eye, had we known. “The Manager” also sent my wife a text showing he had her number the whole time. The text read as follows:
“Guy’s we’re at your door
U chose not to receive your goods
Driver will be living to California tonight
U guys can rent a truck and come Pic it up from as
Good day”
“The manager” then elevated his frustration referring to me as a “little [censored]” stating we made them wait and they have “all of your [censored]ing [censored]” I calmly said sir, we don’t know these people and a 56’ semi truck, the 26’ U-Haul was not. He said, “I paid for shuttle I should charge you and I will, $2,000 extra. I stated that with everything that happened, he quickly cut me off screaming “**** YOU YOU ****… **** YOU SUE ME” over and over refusing to allow me a word in and said, “Get your [censored] in California” and quickly hung up. I called him back immediately and he was laughing and said, the moving companies name, which I couldn’t understand. I said, “Sir?”, he immediately was yelling profanities at me and said, “Sue me!” and hung up.
I was outraged and my wife took the phone from me, sat me down in the room and attempted to make amends and reach a common ground with “the manager”. He answered the phone screaming at her, that I could here through the wall, not on speaker phone, him calling her every name under the Sun, while she very calmly kept trying to ask him to calm down and let her speak. Eventually after about 2 minutes of onslaught screaming, he yelled “**** YOU *****, **** YOU, **** YOU SUE ME”, and “I have your [censored], my guys are taking it to California” laughed and said, “I’m doing you a favor, pay me $3,000 cash now because they already left” and hung up on her. The European man came back, approached my wife very upset and stated, “I’m charging you another $2,000 on top of the $3,000” and “ The Manager” stated we were lucky that he didn’t charge us for the shuttle and help, and that he had to do that for US!
We refused the European man’s clear attempt at extortion, and said, “Your company threatened litigation and we are finished with the call.” He stepped up to my wife and I told him firmly to back up, to which he did. We went inside the house and he recorded a video stating “Never in my life has this happened” showed our car and unit number, went to the U-Haul showing evidence of my safe on its side, more than likely with a broken handle and dial, and approximately only 1/4 of our possessions, thrown around carelessly and visually soaked and in disarray.
They left upon sending the video and my wife and I immediately called our insurance company to file a claim for a complete stolen loss. We were informed to send the original company an email as good faith regarding our experience, however any attempt at remediation for the wrong doings of your company, has been callously and maliciously ignored for frivolous financial gain. We are beyond flabbergasted at this otherworldly experience. We had no idea this thing could happen to anyone and it was only a “Reddit Fable!” The incompetence shown by your company “Master’s Movers” is appalling at minimum. This is our final correspondence to summarize, what we have been forced to experience.
Good Day,
Mr. and Mrs. ******* *******

I contacted Master Moving in early September for my move from CA to PA. At first, they were very responsive, friendly, and helpful. I had looked on ScamPulse.com and seen they were accredited. Decided to go with them. First official experience: They showed up a day early. The driver was supposed to call an hour before arrival, they called in my driveway. Multiple of them asked to use my bathroom, which was fine, but I later discovered they had gone through all of my bathroom cabinets, drawers, and my shower curtain was pulled back. They were very judging, laughing at my belongings with each other until they saw me watching them. They stole some of my tools, left all sorts of trash around my apartment, and apparently had no idea of the items they were picking up. No communication between office and drivers.
Delivery: They asked me when my earliest date I would be available to accept delivery was, I told them, and they proceeded to contact me almost a week before that date to drop off 4 days early. Office told me if they couldn't deliver on the date they were trying to, I would have to wait a whole month extra for my belongings. That was my only option since the date I told them was in fact the absolute earliest I would be able to accept delivery. They called back later that day and miraculously was able to schedule delivery on the date I had requested. Come time for delivery, they told me a time frame. After the time frame had come and gone, I tried contacting the driver multiple times to no response. Finally, 3 hours after the time frame, I call the office to figure out where my stuff is, they contact the driver and I am told it would be the next day. Next day comes and they show up 2hrs late, but they show. Here comes the fun part. In CA, they disassembled 3 items. My bed, a Desk, and Our TV. In PA, they only bothered to reassemble my bed without a single washer and a major bolt. Countless items damaged, including our 65" TV that I watched the guy who carried it in slam against a door frame. At least 3 items we have discovered missing, including two items that were packed in a box. Multiple boxes were ripped open, huge holes, with dirt inside. We are still discovering more and more items damaged and missing. One of the guys did complain about how "heavy" my boxes that I, a petite 5' woman, could and did pick up and move on my own, were.
I have sent them numerous emails through 3 different channels, their general info@ email, the embedded inquiry page, and Nicole (my representative). I also texted the number they had been texting me on through out the process. Silence. Nothing like they were in the beginning. Beware. And the ScamPulse.com page that I had found before, gone. Replaced with a brand new page less than a month old. I am glad I paid with a credit card, not the cash they wanted. Otherwise I would not have a leg to stand on.
