I received a telephone call and a gentleman named Matthew said, "I'm sure glad you answered the telephone, We've been trying to reach you for over a week. I've called numerous times, left messages and if you didn't answer this time I was going to forget you." It is true he did call numerous times; but since we did not recognize the telephone number on our caller ID we did not answer the telephone. He asked me if I was the one looking for 1963 Ford parts and indicated he got our telephone number from someone at a car show. It is true I am looking for parts to restore my mother's 1963 Ford Galaxie. He said he and his wife were in Nevada. Her father had passed away and they were there to sell his house and clear out her father's garage. I was told her father restored old Fords and they had a pallet of 1963 Ford parts they needed to dispose of. I asked for pictures of the parts and was told she would send them but they have yet to arrive. We agreed on a price of $300.00 for the parts and $150.00 for shipping. Matthew called numerous times supposedly to give me an update on the transaction and shipping. I was advised during one of the many calls the parts had been shipped as of Monday October 22, 2018 by an independent shipper and should arrive by Friday October 26th or Saturday October 27, 2018. The parts have yet to arrive. When I tried to call Matthew with the telephone number(775-666-5712) I used to reach him during the transaction to determine the whereabouts of my parts, I got a recording stating the number was no longer accepting telephone calls from private individuals.

During one of our telephone conversations Matthew stated he and his wife Marlene lived in New Mexico. He also stated that she was deaf so I never did get to have a conversation with Marlene even though I told Matthew I was a retired audiologist.

The names given me were Matthew and Marlene Marie Rast. He said they lived in a small town in New Mexico. He told me the name of the town but I neglected to write it down and I have since forgotten the name. He did give me a post office box number they use in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Unfortunately I have misplace the address. When I checked the telephone number area code it turned out to be a Nevada area code not New Mexico.

I have since tried to locate them through "People Search" with no success. It seems that everything that could have gone wrong in this case has gone wrong. Now we are out $300.00 for parts I will never get; $150.00 for erroneous shipping; and $12.50 to wire the money to a very smooth and successful scammer!
