I was the victim of an employment scam. I first got in contact with Alfred Fields via the phone. At the time, I was working remotely for a digital marketing company as an appointment scheduler. I came across Alfred’s business contact through that job experience. I called him on the phone to see if he would be interested in using automatic AI tools to book appointments for potential clients. During that interaction, I got to connect with Alfred on the phone and talk with him about his own business that sells websites, mobile apps, and AI videos to business owners who are looking to promote their businesses. We talked about the advancements of AI technology, American history, and a wide range of issues in the US, including health-related ones. He seemed like a good stand-up guy who was doing well for himself. During the phone call, he offered me a potential job if I would be interested in the future. Since I was open to new work that I could do remotely, with a flexible schedule, considering I was still a student at the time I was all ears. In the following week, I asked him if an offer for me to work with his business, Max Mobile Pro, was still on the table.
During my time working for Max Mobile Pro, my job was to email and call business owners to see if they would be interested in the services provided at Max Mobile Pro. My job was to refer clients to the business website and have them fill out the contact form to see if they would be interested in scheduling a consultation with Alfred. Since the job was commission-based, if the sale was made, I would get a percentage of the profit. However, during that period, several business owners were not interested and were not responding to the emails. I made zero money my whole time working for Alfred, and he claimed that no business owners had contacted him.
The Scam
Since business owners were not interested in his products, he decided to take a different route and specifically sell profile apps to athletes through the NFLPA organization. Instead of small business owners being his target, he said he would market to celebrities and high-profile athletes. He told me Max Mobile Pro would be officially working with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for marketing. He told me that with this new business opportunity, I would get the chance to sell the profile apps to female athletes and make money from the ads running through the apps. He also said he would be branching out and offering other services like cable, etc. On March 6th, Alfred told me that for me to continue working with Max Mobile Pro under the NFLPA agreement, I would have to pay for licensing, which according to him was $1000. He told me that since I didn’t make a sale, and there was no money we could use to cover the cost, I would have to pay $300 and he would cover the rest. According to him, the NFLPA requires that individual sellers have a license before they sell products to athletes. He promised that he would reimburse me for my money back in April. He also told me later in March that I would need to pay $150 for my training with the Buccaneer Administration. He asked me to send him my resume and my driver’s license with the payment to submit my application to them for me. Every time he asked for money, he would tell me that I would need to send it that day because there was a deadline approaching. He claimed that I would get to make a lot of money working with him and for his company, considering that the NFL pays well. He told me his company was groundbreaking and was doing something that no one had done before. He also told me that in May, I would be officially employed and that is when my training would start for me to continue working with Max Mobile Pro under the NFLPA agreement. According to him, I would fly in to work on the weekends during the games, or I could stay in Florida because the NFL would cover the cost of relocating.
Around April I contacted him several times asking him if he could send me the official documentation and contracts regarding my employment/enrollment to which he refused, stating that the reasoning behind it was that the contracts were 20+ pages long and were under Max Mobile Pro LLC. According to him, since I was not the “principal” I had no right to see the official documents, even though the payments were made on my behalf. While he did send me receipts, the receipts were faked and labeled incorrectly, as they did not correspond to what he said my payments would be used for.
Anytime I would ask for official documents related to my employment/ payment, he would tell me that he would get back to me at a later time and update me. However, he would never give me updates and I would have to contact him several times. He would apologize and say the reason behind his lack of communication was that he was busy and was undergoing cancer treatment. However, whenever I would ask to speak about my concerns with another worker under Max Mobile Pro(like his alleged financial partner Mitch), Alfred would use the excuse that Mitch is too busy because he’s working a 2nd job on top of working with Alfred. Alfred would never introduce me to anyone on the team. There were no ZOOM or Team meetings. We would only communicate via texting or phone calls.
Finally, once May came around and there was no licensing, training, or employment in sight I confronted Alfred about it via text asking what was up with my payments and official documents. I had sent him two emails throughout our communication which he ignored. When I texted him asking what the deal was he told me that his way of doing business is not traditional and I have a very traditional way of thinking. He told me that he was moving at a rapid pace dealing with celebrity agents, managers, and publishers. He told me that plans change in businesses all the time and that he didn’t know what I could do for the company. He offered to set up a conference call for me and Mitch(the same guy who canceled our last scheduled meeting and can never get in touch) to clear things up. He was very dismissive to me and told me that if I was going to keep complaining he would rather refund me the money I gave him. I said, that I was fine with that and asked him when he would send me my refund. He told me he would contact the NFLPA to get rid of my application and get my money back and that he would contact me. He still has not refunded me my money for training and licensing to this day! Thinking about the whole experience overall makes me want to cry to know that I was taken advantage of in this awful way.
The fact that I even fell for all of Alfred’s lies and excuses makes me mad! This man is a master manipulator who knows how to take advantage of people with career goals and aspirations. He promises you gold and gives you nothing but dirt. I’m sure he has also scammed business owners out of their money by offering them services that he will never deliver on, just like he did not deliver on my licensing and training. BEWARE OF THIS SCAMMER AND DON’T DO BUSINESS WITH HIM!
