Zip Recruiter has allowed scammers or has been used by scammers before this. I got a Zip Recruiter notice with a notice from "McBride's RV services" for a freelance job. I checked them out and they are legitimate, and the CEO is Benjamin McBride, which is the name the scammer went by. I was assigned some illustrations to do, I created a contract which "he" signed. The terms were half now, half upon delivery of illustrations. The scammer's instructions and assignment was explicit and professionally laid out. I gave out no financial information but did give out my name and address. They have my email obviously. When he said that he "Accidentally" sent out a check for twice the full amount and apologized and said that "he" trusts me to hang on to the extra money which was for another artist, none of it made sense. A check can easily be cancelled. So I called McBride's RV Services and they told me it was a scam. A Phishing scam was attempted on me about a year ago I believe also through Zip Recruiter. At this point I deem Zip Recruiter to be untrustworthy.
