Type of a scam Investment
more.” She claimed she was “constantly” working on the film and the website, while also filling out grants for the film, countless resumes she sent out (she never did get a job,) and supposedly worked part-time at several different grade schools in Orange County, CA. She kept begging for more money. She was always broke, until I was paying her about $4,000 a month to cover “film expenses” and personal bills. I gave her a CC to pay for her rent one-time, but it went through, again, the next month and she used it to pay rental storage fees for her camera equipment and film. She was constantly saying she needed gas or food money for her ‘rescue cat.’ At times she’d be crying and call or text me for money saying if I didn’t pay her, she would be evicted and that she and her cat would die, I was keeping them alive and news headlines would read: “OC Actress and Rescue Cat Die Homeless in Car.” She would guilt me or praise me to weasel money. Anyway, I was suspicious, but didn’t have any concrete evidence that this was fraud. It finally did come out when the film editor I contracted (because she had dragged out the editing for a variety of reasons for years) and she actually went to her house. (I was forbidden to go to her house; we met in restaurants.) She wouldn’t allow the editor to see the title page nor the credits. Later, the editor said she acted “funny” about the film and told me the film quality was poor, stained and faded in spots, looked dated and several different cameras were used giving it a very distorted feel. She also badmouthed me to her on several occasions, and to the musical artist that was doing the theme song and hitting him up for money for gas and food, too! Very odd, and then she started making excuses to not see the editor, then begged off completely. Again odd, as she had seemed so anxious to get the film done. She made up excuses to each of the 3 of us—why we didn’t need to contact each other. Well, we finally did and found out she had bombarded each of us with a pile of lies and the whole thing blew up. I stopped paying her and she immediately blocked me from her 2 Twitter accounts and took down her 2 websites. She blocked both the editor and the musician on social media. (Her websites have gone up and down sporadically for almost 2 years.) I have numerous screenshots of the websites, social media and text messages.
This is being worked on by the police’s Internet Crimes Division and the FBI. A report was also filed with the FTC. (My photos are larger than 2MB, sorry.
