I have received many phone calls from people saying they are from Medicare, one said she was a Medicare Patient Advocate, asking if I have back pain, or where do I have pain? Several calls are from people with accents from India offering me free back braces paid by Medicare. The call I returned was because someone said she was calling to update my file about whether I received my new Medicare card. I gave out my name and address.

I have received 2-3 calls per day, from a different city each day, telling me it is my final chance to sign up for Medicare benefits. I “press 9 to be placed on the do not call list”, and it says “ple[censored]d while we connect you with a representative.” I don’t give my name and state firmly that I would like to be placed on the list. They said my name and I hung up. They always use an area code local to me. I’ve blocked many of their numbers.
