Type of a scam Employment
I downloaded Telegram to my phone and attended the interview in Chat form, without ever seeing my interviewers face. I was given a code (MED-CKM09), via text, which I had to report to my interviewer, in the Chat. The Chat interviewer identified himself as, Cody Roberts, the HR Manager of Medical Information Technology, Inc. The interviewer shared a link to MEDITECH (https;//ehr.meditech.com) providing information about the company stating it's various locations in the US: Eastern Mass, Westwood, Canton, Fall River and Foxborough - with the home office in Atlanta Georgia - formerly Patient Care Technologies. The business was identified as "Home Care Line of Clinical and billing Software."
During the interview, Cody stated a payment would be made available to new employees for office equipment and asked me for my banks daily allowable deposit amount...this is where I started to feel very uncomfortable. I said I did not know the rate and left the chat. He kept typing, "Look into your mobile bank app and click on mobile deposit...you will find the information there." When I did not answer, he said that he sent a check to my "email" in the amount of $1950.00, from Huntington National Bank, in Columbus, Ohio - which is not any of the locations noted previously for MEDITECH, Inc.
The whole process and the emailed funds made me very uncomfortable. I never even filled out new hire paperwork or attended proper training for the position - and, here is this large sum of money "in my email!" I have not responded to any other correspondence from this agency and am reaching out to you in effort to substantiate whether or not this is a scam that the public should be alerted to.
