I was contacted by someone posing to work for an internet company called Mediterranean Organic. They asked me to download yahoo messenger and proceeded to interview me with legitimate questions that I, myself ask when hiring new employees for my current job. They were very thorough and stated that they would be sending me paperwork from their HR representative etc. They did obtain a few personal facts when asking the final question of please tell me a little more about yourself and your current job. They also obtained the name of my financial institution but no account information. I'm always very skeptical and distrusting when being approached for any type of work online but the interview and job description is very well thought out, deceptive and seemed very true. They are very deceiving and calculated and obviously have done this many times. I did more research this morning through the internet and found that the same job, terms and offer of employment has been offered to many, and these unsuspecting people then receive a fraudulant to check to cash from a unparticipating, unknown financial institution. Thankfully I have not received anything as of yet and plan on putting "return to sender" on any type of mail should they try and send something. They found my resume through a job posting site called Upwork. They claim to represent a company called "Mediterranean Organic" based out of Rhode Island. The person goes by the name of Ms. Cathleen Butler and the yahoo email address provided is [email protected]. I have contacted and reported this scam to the actual company and I'm hoping for some type of response in that they are willing to take action to prevent this scam from continuing. I have also responded to the "Ms. Butler" letting her know that I have no interest in receiving any other information for this offer in which "she" signed off immediately from messenger. I have saved all correspondence in MS word and will supply it to you if needed to put an end to this. It is truly sad to find out the hard way people are so malicious to offer a fraudulent job to individuals such as myself who are only looking to better themselves and the people their families. Other than answering anymore questions you may have regarding the interview and job offer, I do not wish to report to the news media because I have a family and I'm very busy mother of three who honestly has no time for this nonsense. I would like to move on and chalk this up as a sad learning experience about the world we live in today.
