My mom was contact by an individual that stated she was a winner of the Mega Millions sweepstakes and before she could receive the winnings, the taxes must be paid up front. We believed their cover story and ended up paying over $100K to which supposedly went to the IRS. The agents we worked with was supposedly named Mr Kurt Walton and his boss or the chief accountant was named Mr Robert Cooper. The chief accountant gave us various agents to send the money as cashier checks/money orders to and deposit into different accounts in Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Chase. This went on for several months, starting from November 2020 then when we final decided to cancel in July 2021, since we were out of money, we were told to send in all of our receipts to their accounting office so it can be processed and it would take 60 days and that we will need approval from the Chief executive accountant, Mr Don Taylor. When I spoke with him, he was trying to convince me to continue on rather than cancel because our money was sent to the IRS and it would take time to get a refund because it would be around tax season. He also emailed me pages of documents of the process, he claimed they were official docs but the documents looked like it was splice together in a Word document. All we want to do is get our money back and get the word out, maybe others have come in contact with these individuals.
