I was purchasing items for sale on Facebook. The individual sent me a request via Venmo to pay them. Told me I would have a tracking number within 2 hours of paying. Obviously I never got the tracking number. After days of sending messages and trying to communicate with the person they sent me a tracking number which was fake. I sent multiple requests to collect a refund and the Venmo user declined all requests. I contacted Venmo within 24 hours of this happening because I was getting a bad feeling and Venmo did nothing. Apparently they offer zero assistance/protection. Neither Facebook or Venmo have removed the user from the platform so I’m sure they will continue to scam people.
