I got contacted out of the blue from a "Richard Anderson" from texas on a messaging platform called telegram. Asked if I was interested in new opportunities and asked if I knew about forex trading. The images used by the scammer looked very generic and from stock image website with the way the person was posing and modeled in the picture. I was told after making my account on their website ( more information further down ) I would be funded from their company in order to make money. They also sent a 7MB+ video file explaining how that I could make anywhere from 80-1000% profit on my investment. Played along and wasn't able to receive any information from the individual carrying out the scam that could trace back to any group or person besides a website they linked me in the chat called Mercuryfx.com. I went to their website through google and took screenshots of the account page that they wanted me to open. The scammer then told me that the website I'm on is not their website and relinked their "website" twice. They only changed the capitalization on the first letter of the website. On a side note *.ethicalcurrency.com, *.mercuryfx.hk, *.mercury-fx.co.za, *.mercury-fx.com are the amazon approved websites that show up when viewing the certificate through my browser. I didn't want to proceed with this as any harm that quite possibly could have occurred with my computer would set me back as I am not technologically inclined enough to make any safe enough virtual environments to try and fish more information from this scammer.
