Travel arrangements were requested for a trip to Guadalajara, Mexico. I initially provided a down payment to secure the trip in the amount of $300 along with 5 other friends. The travel agent, Maritza Cardona, states that all travel arrangements would be secured, several weeks later I made the final payment for the trip in the amount of $487.23. While these arrangements were being finalized according to her, I secured another deposit for an additional trip for 2025. As the secured trip was getting closer, our travel group kept bugging her about updates and confirmations for the trip, which she kept giving us the run around and never provided anything . Our trip was scheduled for June 20, 2024, and she notified us that same day at 6am that she wasn’t able to confirm any travel for us… we had been advised our flight would depart that morning at 9am, but she hadn’t made arrangements . We were left empty handed, our group paid over 6,000. Additionally, we’ve discovered over 30 people are coming forward stating that she has scammed them as well. The group is currently at a loss of over 100k and more continue coming forward. She lies that she has secured the travel, and never provides travel details or confirmations. When requesting updates over and over, she’ll come up with endless excuses blaming a system error or a transition of systems . Travel services she’ll attempt to sell are flights, hotels, transportation, and activities. She’ll state that she’ll refund you the money, and doesn’t.
