I googled customer service meta. Trying to call meta quest to get help with transferring info from my old system to the new system. When they answered they asked what I was calling about and once I told them the guy asked me if I have cash app Venmo or PayPal. I asked why did he need to know that. He told me the somebody was trying to take money off my cash app throw meta and trying to buy bitcoin and sale them on Facebook. I asked how did he see that when I am not the owner of the meta quest or Facebook account I am calling about he told me that because my daughter and I have the same IP address they got to my cash app and I need to go on my phone and look at the setting- general-language and region-scroll to the bottom. The numbers down there show how many time someone tried to take money from my cash app. I told him the it said that’s was an example number so how could that be. He then told me to download anydesk app and when I did he asked me for the number on the screen so I gave it to him a warning popped up and told me that whoever sent that would be about to see my phone and the information on it. He started to tell me to don’t worry about that warning and that was Facebook/meta quest telling me the worrying and to just click the button at said don’t show this warning again and to type I read this and click accept and the I need to do it fast be the hacker see what we are don’t and stop it from happening I didn’t do that because he was being really pushy and didn’t want me to read any of the screen and all of it felt wrong so I hung up the phone and called Apple to ask about that he was telling me and the setting of the phone and they told me that the number he had me looking at was just and example of what the phone setup was and if I went to a different county it would change to match the place or that I could change it if I want phone to say/show something different so I knew I didn’t the right thing by hanging up on that man but I don’t want anybody else to fall for this trick
