got a cell phone call from the # shown above, guy with heavy Indian accent said he was from Metro Security Dept of Microsoft and this was to alert me that my "network access protection" service was off and so my computer was at risk. I asked how he knew anything about my computer he said I was a registered Microsoft user. I kept asking who he was with as he was hard to understand and he kept saying Microsoft. He asked me to check my security setting on my computer. I pulled up control panel and saw that firewall was on. He said to go to control panel>system and security>action center>security and look to see if my "network access protection" service was running. I saw it said off/not in service and he said if it's not running my computer has an issue. He was insistent on transferring me to a technician to fix the problem. I told him to give me his number and I would call them back. He said to call 888-253-0390 and ask for Justin Rogers #308 (he did not sound like a "Justin"). I called my phone techs at work and they immediately went online and found that this is a massive phone scam which I confirmed online as well. There are online warnings that Microsoft will NEVER make unsolicited calls. These people are trying to hack into your computer and their tactics are a bit scary to someone like me who is not at all tech savvy.
