I put in an application on LinkedIn for a Data entry Clerk position. The "boss" Michael H Garelick of Garelick Business Management Inc contacted me through LinkedIn offering me a job and asking for me to send a resume to the desired email: [email protected]. After answering hiring questions and reviewing their email back with an offer letter included, I signed and therefore thought I was going to be employed by said employer. In the offer letter it stated I was going to be reimbursed for materials paid for the position in order to adequately work from home. After the first check for $3680 was sent back, I refused to pay anything else forward when they sent me an additional check for $2958. I had paid a "vendor" by the name of Jessica H Rodriguez for initial materials and got an apple gift card for said materials (which was supposed to include an apple Mac laptop) for software. All of this was fraud and now "he" is not responding anymore to reimburse me for the money I fronted. I called the company phone number and spoke to the actual Michael H Garelick of said business, and he was aware this scam has been happening, told me I was a fool for falling for such an old scam and that there was nothing he could do to prevent this from happening or to help me. The fraud user indeed used the company website and phone numbers but they refuse to take any sort of responsibility.
