Type of a scam Rental
(I have a screenshot and a printout of this ad if it is no longer accessible from this link) We spent a bit more time researching, but it felt legit at the time.
My daughter had an email exchange with the landlord, confirmed availability, filled out a renters application, and received a contract. We were perhaps a bit enthusiastic to finalize the transaction, and she was given information for payment of the security deposit and first month’s rent. Preferably to be paid by Zelle. Yes. I know.
We completed all that, and it was the day after that I realized that something felt wrong. I did more research and found an identical listing on airbnb, in communicating with that host I was assured that they only do short term rentals and that they have no record of our lease/reservation.
