On 10/13/2021 I received an unsolicited text from phone #2532143648 stating the following: “Dear customer your M I C R O S O F T subscription is on auto-renewal, USD -299 has been debited from your account this morning. If you want to cancel this subscription, please call 1-253-214-3648.”

Foolishly, I called because it didn’t make any sense. Subsequently they used a different phone number, 3604744990 and used the names of Chris Morgan and Stan Lee. A transaction error then occurred. Ultimately they locked up my computer. Fortunately I am not out any money. However, they knew all of my personal information. To correct the “error” they wanted me to send them money on a Walmart money card. I unplugged my computer and took it to my computer specialist to have them clean or replace my hard drive. This morning the scammers have called me 3 times from the 3604744990 number: this number has been reported elsewhere as a scam, something I did not know soon enough yesterday.

My computer froze up and I had a message across my computer screen saying that I have a security violation and do not shut down or reset my computer. Please call Microsoft to rectify the issue and get my pc unlocked call toll free helpline 1-888-529-2490. Then they want to dial into my computer. They said they are located in New York and needs to login my computer should take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes to fix and informed me that I would need to pay them $180.00. I told them I have no money so they still proceeded to fix my computer. They started at 9:30am and this didn't finish until 6:15pm.
