I received a message on my phone. "Do not hang up" Microsoft windows has lost its license. Call this number to find out how you can received a refund for $300.00.

I called the number and asked for more information. I was told to go in front of my computer and give them my email address. I told them my windows was working just fine. Answer " do you want the refund or not" I informed them if they knew all about my computer and my phone number that they should know my email address. The phone line went dead.

I am a 77 year old retired man. I received a warning supposedly from Microsoft tech support at 855-554-3462 that my computer had a security breach from hackers. I spent a long time with this person, who took over control of my computer and seemed very legit. Until he wanted me to pay $300 to sign up for security software (I guess you would call it that). I already have McAfee security software. Anyway, I got really suspicious when he wanted me to go get a “Google Play Card” immediately. My phone number is ###-###-#### and my email is ***@***.com if you can help me. I don’t want to send the money, but I also don’t want to have my computer hacked.

I got two robo-calls to my land line claiming to be from Microsoft. In the first call, "Alice" said that my IP address had been compromised by several countries and that they would be terminating my Microsoft license within 48 hours. They wanted me to press "1" on my keypad to be connected to a Microsoft technician to change my IP address and license key. The second robo-call, again claiming to be from Microsoft, said that my Microsoft license had expired and my computer would no longer run any Microsoft software. I was directed to call their toll free number:855-849-1231 to correct the situation.

A guy called and said he was calling from windows regarding my computer. The caller id even said Microsoft.

Pop up screen telling me my Microsoft account was compromised. They locked screen and told me to call free helpline with number listed. I did call and yelled at the guy who identified himself as a technician. Had to force quit Firefox (on a Mac).
