They had different person talking to my (like manager or senior supervisor). They tell you that you can renew your Microsoft License and give you the choice ( $99 US for 1 year or $199 US for 2 years or $299 US for a Life Time). They say that they are 'MICROSOFT SERVICE CENTRE'. They are very convincing and do not stop until you give in.
They ask for your credit card number, your personal email address, your home address, your phone number. Once they have the necessary sinformation they immediately put credit card through BUT the PHONE SCAMMER use PAYPAL to process the transaction. They use PayPal through the 'Guess Transaction' option to get the money asap.
I had requested an invoice from them, and email received of 'Microsoft invoice' came from a personal email address [email protected]. NOT MICROSOFT EMAIL ADDRESS.
This is when I realized I was being scammed by Phone Scammer
pretending to be working for Microsoft (through our phone conversation, I asked where they were and the person said they where in India)
I immediately contacted Master Card to cancelled my card but they had already processed the transaction.
I contacted PAY PAL Dept. to inform them of the Phone Scam that occurred.
Pay Pal Agent opened a case and they were able to get my money back from India Phone Scammer.
I was informed today (Nov. 18, 2015) by My Master Card Dispute Specialist Department Agent that the $404.00 Cdn charge was reversed on my credit card.
