I was on Facebook, scrolling on my page. There was an ad about this woman in her seventies. The ad only showed a picture of her from the shoulders upward. The ad instructs viewers to click on the ad to see the amazing body of this grandmother in her seventies and her secrets to looking young. When I clicked on the picture there was a pop up that took over my whole laptop computer screen. I was instructed to call this number 1 (888) 635-6193 before proceeding or else I wouldn't be able to use my computer. I tried to close this page but I couldn't. I called the number. They offered to "help" me. They told me that it sounds like 'someone" put a virus on my computer. They asked for remote access to my computer. I gave them access to my computer. They began doing things on my computer. They even asked me if I could see where they detected the viruses on my computer. I told them yes. They even circled them. They kept telling me they could help me. They had me on hold for about ten minutes. They did some more stuff on my computer. Towards the end of the call the person who was "helping" me told me his name was Jazz. He has a very thick accent, like he's Arabian. He told me he came up with these plans to protect my computer from any more viruses. He displayed prices from $310 to over $1000 on my screen. I told him I don't have that kind of money. He told me that if I didn't pay them they wouldn't be able to fix my computer. I thank God that my daughter came in and told me that they were the ones trying to put a virus on my computer. She got on the phone and "talked" to him and he hung up. It's a shame that people are willing to take advantage of people just because they are not familiar with technology. I really feel like someone just raped me and I'm telling my story.
