They wanted me to call them back so that they could get on my computer. They said they would shut down my computer if I didn't get back to them.

Phone call received by a 72 yr old woman, they claimed to be Microsoft Windows, they stated that she had windows 10 in her name, which they also mentioned her name, and how she would not be able to go on various websites. 72 yr old woman hung up the phone. Daughter called back, daughter is an MCDBA, Told them they were not Microsoft, because Microsoft doesn't call people about their computers, told them my title, and then called Microsoft to verify it wasn't one of their numbers. It is not one of their numbers.... Microsoft verified it was a total scam call, that they were trying to hack into one of the computers. Gentleman from the scam call got mad and hung up on daughter.... been calling them back ever since... for the lulz. They've been hanging up. I want them to know I've reported them to Microsoft and to the BBB, and good luck from there.

This scam has been going on for years, new number (I've counted and blocked a total of 18 different numbers) - same approach. They also call on some days as many as 6 times, I let the machine pickup and then I block (Panasonic has the best and easiest blocking feature).

The following is verbatim -- please note the poor grammar. It's a recorded message that attempts to sound like a computer.

"" Someone has accessed your network security and tried to steal your personal information. If not fixed right away your computer become obsolete and all of your information may got compromised. If you are the one who is using Microsoft Windows in your computer please call 929-223-0049 or press 1 to get connected with Microsoft technicians. If you are not a Windows customer please ignore.""

I've connected once to see how far they would go and how they 'worked', to gather information so I could inform my community of the scam. They request access to your computer to remotely view and assist you with your problem. They request a sum of money (varies, they wanted $600 in this instance). I acted like I couldn't find the start button much less the additional system information they were requesting. They became very angry with my stupidity and called me several rude names. I blocked that number, only to have them call again months later using the same ploy just a new phone number.

DO NOT ever give anyone access to your computer!

MICROSOFT will NEVER call requesting or informing your of such issues.

Please INFORM others, especially the elderly and those who are not technically able.

My brother-in-law who suffers with PTSD, answered and believed them they accessed his computer, retrieved enough information that his banking accounting was cleaned out. To make matters worse, his computer registry was accessed. System had to be completely rebuilt.

caller asked "can you hear me"; I answered yes; he then proceeded to say he was calling about microsoft windows on the computer I was using; I interrupted and said, "I'm not interested" and hung up. Caller had an Indian accent.

This person called my phone three times in one day. He told me there were corrupted files in my computer, and that he would give me instructions to edit files in order to fix them.

Caller says he's from Microsoft or windows tech support, Says there's a virus on my computer, and either wants access to it or wants a large fee to fix it.

Phone calls come to me from 1-800-301-9789, but I have not had that number come up on my cell phone I.D....only unavailable or private number until this morning. Usually the caller asks if I have Microsoft Windows and he needs to fix it through the server. At that point I hang up. The calls come early in the morning or late, or just before a holiday. Today it was a girl, with the same foreign accent. When I asked if I could call her back, she gave me her number as 1-800-9789 and name as Annie Fernandez. I suspect she was in training and should not have given that information. I a few minutes a male voice ( the same one who calls several times a day or week) called and gave the same introduction. When I asked for his number so I could call him back...he hung up. I really wish they would quit calling me. I am a senior and it is upsetting me.

Did not answer the phone; no message left. Googled number and is the Microsoft Windows scam about your computer needing to be fixed.

i was called by someone claiming to be from Microsoft. said my computer was crashing and that he needed remote access to my computer. I hung up and then called the number i was called from. the person that answered said that the number went to DaBrow University.

So I called the scammer, because my computer started to beep really loud while someone was using it. There was a popup that said that I had a zeus virus on my computer, and it told me to call a number. I called the number not really knowing what to do. It was a lady with an indian accent. She started telling me to instructions. She told me to hold the windows button, and press the letter D. Which minimized all the windows that were up on my screen. She then asked me what happened, and then told me to hold the windows button again, and press R. The RUN box opened up, and then she told me to put in www.support.me and press enter. I did that, and my internet browser came up, and it brought me to a website. She then told me to put in a 6 digit code. I put it in, and then she had remote access into my computer. She then started opening things up on my computer, and told me that I had a zeus virus. She showed me errors on my computer, and told me that my computer was vulnerable to hackers. She said that hackers were able to take information that I put into my computer. She also said that hackers were able to get to my IP Address, and access things from there. So she told me that I had to buy a thing to protect my computer. I told her that I already had Norton, and she said that they weren't good enough to secure my info, and that they only do certain things on my computer. She also brought up a screen that had a bunch of codes from my laptop that took a while to load, and went to my IP Address. She also went on to other screens, and unchecked some things on the settings or control panel. She then brought me to another websites. It was like an online store. It had things that were 1,000-10,000 dollars. She showed me a "protector" for my laptop that was 900.00 dollars. I even asked them if I was being scammed, and they said no, and that they were from Windows. She then "transferred" me to her "manager." Which was a male with an indian accent also. He was telling me that he was the manager, and said that he didn't really know the case of my computer, but was willing to "help." Before even "transferring" me. She pulled up the notepad and asked me to put my name, address, phone numbers, and card number. So that they can add these onto the payment. She also wrote her name, which was Neina George. She also gave me a 4 digit number, and told me not to tell ANYONE the number. Like my family or friends. Anyways the "manager" brought me back to the website to finish the payment. I told him that I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay that amount. He then told me to hold, and see what he can do. He then told me that I would be able to pay an amount of 700.00 dollars. I agreed, and he put my info in, and he said that the payment was denied. While putting in my info he put in Arkansas instead of Alaska. The guy asked me to fix it, and I did. So he then told me to call my bank, and tell them to accept the payment to TAK something. I asked him what the Tak thing was, and he said that it was the payment management. I hung up with him to call my work, and my boyfriend. He then was communicating with me on my laptop on the notepad that was up. He would type 'maam are you there?' He then called my cell number to get a hold of me, because I was on the phone with my boyfriend on the phone I was using to talk to them. I told my boyfriend the situation, and he answered their call on my cell phone. He asked them questions, and then told them not to make any payments to my card, and to get out of my computer with the remote access. They did what was told to do, and then I got out of the thing they were using to get into my computer. Which was Logmein Rescue.

My landline was called by phone #239-944-5574. A man with a foreign accent said he was calling from Windows and my computer was being hacked. I told him my computer had been off for the last three days. He wanted me to go to the computer and he would talk me through how to stop the hackers. I told him the computer was off and I would call him back at my convenience. He insisted that I call him back within an hour. He said not to call the number on my phone ID, to call: 646-661-3187 and provided the name of Adam June and the ID# AD1OWT.. He asked if I could call him back within the hour. I said that I would try and hung up. I called the ScamPulse.com and did not call him back.

The same 239 number displayed on the landline a few days later. I did not answer.

I received a call from the number 234 321 3432. They identified themselves as being from Microsoft Windows. They asked me to sign into my computer right away and download their software to fix an issue with corrupt files. I did not do so. I called them on the scam and reported them to Microsoft right away. They were very insistent on me following their instructions to download their program online with them on the phone. I want to warn others.

I have been called three times this week by different individuals who claim that my computer has a virus that is going to ruin my computer. They say they are from Microsoft Windows. I have received these calls in past years, but have not had them call me recently. The phone numbers they are using are local to my area.

989-423-8451, 989-496-385, and one from Louisiana at 985-625-4348.

I do not feel that these people are in my city, but have probably be able to use these local numbers to fool people.

The numbers come up wireless, however; I can hear people talking at the same time in the background. (like it is a telephone bank room of people) Two of the people had Indian accents. One was a woman.

I am very frustrated as I tell them not to be calling me.

They are impersonating Microsoft Windows company. Or they are trying to get business. I know when they called me years ago, I listened to them and followed their directions. It led me to a page on the computer that everyone has where tracking is noted for virus attacks.

I feel like this group preys on older individuals who may not understand the system.

I have received several calls from a male and a female identifying themselves as Microsoft Tech Support. They said they are calling because of a problem with my computer and want me to place a code in the computer so that they may control the computer to solve the problem

A person claiming to be with Microsoft Windows called my residence. The caller asked me to pay $300.00 to update my computer license with Microsoft Windows. I did give the caller my credit card information and let the caller into my computer. Then I did call my bank in time to cancel the transaction and cancel the credit card.
