Made deal to buy car part for $325 inc. shipping. Next day, I received a text from the shipping company asking me to pay additional insurance of $999. They claimed it would be 100% refunded, which makes NO sense. I contacted the seller through the Messenger app

(Only way he communicates!) and he claimed this was "the way it is done" and acted like I was stupid for not understanding this practice. I refused and asked for a refund and cancellation of the sale. So far, there has been no response, either yes or no. In the text, they sent a link to a tracking portal on their website. Looking at the site, there are numerous things that suggest a hastily built and bogus site. Also, you can't find the shipping company by just searching on google. This is definitely a scam.
