Someone called from a private number and askedcit I would be home within the next two hours because I was being served to collect an unpaid debt. The first time ever was concerned and asked for an account number which I was given a case number and a phone number to contact the firm that was taking me to court. I called and was told that he owed Bank of America’s 100’s of dollars. I never had a account with that institution or a credit card. If I did it would have been on my credit report, which I’ve received just one month before this scam of a company contacted me. I have received several calls telling them that I don’t own BOA and to send whoever out that’s going to serve me to go to court and I will countersue them for harassment. One agent hung up the phone on me. Then another agent didn’t want to share their address with me and wanted me to provide my last four social. Which I didn’t do she said she can’t provide me with nothing not even their address and I was being rude. So she hung up on me. Now who wouldn’t be upset, angry and rude to scammers???

This is a total scam! DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY OR ANY INFORMATION. On August 9, 2018, I received a call from a man stating that he was a processor attempting to serve me with papers. I told him that I knew this was a scam and to never call again. He proceeded to call me back three times in a row. I finally answered the fourth time; he was hostile, and gave me a case number with my initials in it as well as another number to call for information: 888-326-7918.

I called, and a woman who identified herself as "Natalie" answered the phone. I gave her the "case number" and she said that they are Miller & Simmons, an attorney's office, attempting to collect on a dept. She said that they were in the process of serving me papers, and that if they did in fact serve me before I paid, an additional $2500 would be added onto the $3500 in principal and fees. I asked her what the original account was from, and she indicated that it was from US Bank in 2012. She stated that if I paid her right away, she would settle the debt for $1400.00.

I hung up with her, and immediately called US Bank who connected me with their account recover center at 866-434-2103. The folks there said that I did have an old account with US Bank which was closed in 2010, but they had never heard of the company that was calling me, and where not involved in any kind of action to recovery any monies at all. They recommended that I call the "attorney" back and request a "chain of title" which would give me all the information regarding any kind of collection action that may exist.

I called Miller & Simmons back, spoke to a different women who was very hostile, and requested the chain of title. She became irate, and told me that she did not have time to do my work for me, and I needed to pay my bills. Eventually, she stated that the debt came to them from "Pinnacle", but would give me not additional information about the company, including the full name and/or contact information for the company. I told her that I believed this to be a scam based on what I had experienced and learned that day. She had a few choice words for me and hung up.

I Googled both Pinnacle and Miller & Simmons. Miller & Simmons had no website, listing, address, etc.; only a grim reference to a company with a similar name out of California on the ScamPulse.com (BBB) website. I am not sure that it is the same company, and the one I found on BBB is NOT accredited by the BBB and had received complaints about it. I called Miller & Simmons back to ask for their address so that I could compare it to the one on the BBB site, and the man who answered the phone said that he would not give me ANY information about the company, and then hung up on me.

Additionally, I found a couple of references to companies with "Pinnacle" in their names that looked they could have been a collections agency. I contacted each one and was told that they had never heard of Miller & Simmons, and did not have anything at all in relation to me.

I decided to contact my local police department, and left a message for an officer to return my call. An officer returned by call a short time later, and after hearing my story agreed that it was a scam. He ran the phone number through his system (a reverse search), and nothing came up. He recommended that I block the number, and ignore any future calls. He also advised me to call 911 if anyone actually did show up.

This morning, my mother told me that they had called her cell phone on the same day and left a message stating that I needed to contact them immediately to avoid further action. The contact number they gave is 888-365-4583. I tried to call both numbers again, and this time both calls went to a voicemail which did not identify the name of the company, business hours, etc.

I highly recommend that everyone who is unfortunate enough to deal with these piles of wasted skin, file a complaint with the FCC and the BBB as I have done.
