I had a cc sent in collections from a bank I opened when I was eighteen years of age. Somehow this person claimed to be from the debt collection agency and my debt need to be paid. I was told or threatened further action would be taken if I did not pay the debt. I didnt know it was a scam. They got ahold of my social security number, bank information, and some of my social security income benefits. The debt never showed paid in full until a full year after I paid this unknown debt collector. The next year the bank I was to pay the debt to called and told me that my debt was never paid. I was scammed. I am now having to deal and fight with identity theft and file reports of what happened. Some people you just cannot trust. Don't let this happen to you.
