We attempted to contact several chimney sweeping/inspecting companies for our leaking chimney. We heard back from an answering service to schedule a company to come out and sweep and inspect our chimney. They showed up 4 hours late, in an unmarked car with no business car. Stayed 30 mins, did a subpar job "vacuuming" the chimney. He charged us for a level 2 inspection, although he did not have a ladder or go on the roof to properly inspect. He demanded we pay only via cash or venmo. We did not receive an invoice until later that evening from an "M.O.G. cleaning services". I tried to call the "company" to complain about the lack of inspection and no inspection documentation. The answering service gave me several different numbers for the company, all of which were either out of service or no one answered. I contacted the technician via venmo message and he texted me a copy of a "inspection report" marking nothing wrong with our chimney, although that evening it was actively leaking during a storm. We had an actual mason come out and paid for another level 2 inspection, finding several issues with the chimney, including issues with the cap. His report was clearly fraudulent and also had a heading that said "J & Y Chimney & Dryer Vent services"... which is not the same "M.O.G. company" which was on the heading of the invoice.
