I purchased a storage unit last year through a seller of Leonard storage units. I received financing through Lendmark and made all my payments on time. In December 2024, RTO National started contacting me and saying that they took over my loan and that my balance was over $9000 (my actual balance was less than $3500 at that time). I paid my balance off later in December with my actual lender and my account was marked as closed and paid in full. RTO National continues to contact me, sending me "final notice" letters and now threatening to repossess the storage unit. I sent RTO National verification showing that I paid Lendmark in full for the unit. The agent replied that she spoke to her manager and there's nothing they can do. If I don't pay them almost $1800 the account is going to move into "retrieval".

RTO continues to try to get money from me and threaten to repossess the storage unit even though I've never had an account with them and the loan with my actual lender is paid in full. Why is this company still in business?
