Type of a scam Bank/Credit Card Company Imposter
letters were asking me to fill out paperwork for a loan that I had requested. I’ve done no such thing!
That loan application included personal information plus my signature. The second letter stated that my hazard insurance had expired and that they were going to be buying the insurance for my property until I reinstated my hazard insurance. In the meantime, they would pay for my
insurance, and then I’d have to
reimburse them. This fraudulent company assured me that I did not have hazard insurance. I decided to check with my bank and get the name of the company that was actually making the reverse mortgage deposits. It was not Carrington!
The young woman that assisted me from that the only mortgage company assured me that the same company has been depositing my reverse mortgage payment for years. That company remains to be Reverse Mortgage.and it’s been the same provider for years.
I am very much concerned that just as
I almost got scammed, I’m sure that others may be in the same vulnerable situation and actually get scammed, trusting that Carrington, or other companies like them are legitimate. I
am willing to speak to someone if you need more information.
