They are selling kittens online. When I decided to proceed with the purchase of the kitten I liked. They asked $750 dollars upfront as a deposit which I had no problem paying it but before I sent the money I asked him to face time me to see the kitten. He refused to do it and got really aggressive and hung up on me.

We tried to inquire on “Buddy” and it seemed fishy. The response was questionable and too good to be true if you’ve purchased a cat before. I realized this was a scam and immediately wanted to report it.

They sent me photos of a kitten and a video. They also sent photos of the kittens parents. We sent about 30 emails back & forth. They were very polite and seemed to be very concerned about their animals. I paid $1000 for a kitten and $250 for "shipping". Later they asked for $880 for a better carrier because the airline wouldn't accept the one they had. They said I would get 80% of the money back. Then the day I was to receive the kitten I got another email about the kitten being in quarantine.
They wanted another $775 for a vaccine. I did not pay this and now the breeder's phone number is "out of service" and I haven't heard back and I never got a kitten. These are horrible people!

Made a purchase, signed a contract and item was never received. After multiple attempts to contact them, they would not respond to me. After looking into the company and the shipping email that I received, I believe they are a fake company. Phone number does not even ring.

I found "Mountain Top Ragdoll Kittens" online as I was searching for Ragdoll Cat Breeders through the google search engine. One thing I did not notice right away, was that the word "ad" appeared next to the website in the search results. At the time, I did not know that an ad was typically a red flag for false breeders. The website was very well put together and detailed. They claim to their cats are "TICA" certified, however when you go on the TICA website, the name of the breeder is not actually listed. After inquiring about the availability of a kitten, I was given what seemed to be very prompt and "amazing" customer service through email. The grammar was very good, they were very friendly, and I even had to fill out answers to interview questions to guarantee the safety of my home and time that would be spent with my cat. I received pictures of the kitten and I asked for a short video clip. They told me my kitten could be shipped Monday, Wednesday, or Friday through carrier flight and then delivered to my home by van from there and that as soon as payment was received they could process the shipping flight arrangements. They tried to get me to use "Zelle" which I had not heard of at the time or use direct money transfer. I asked if I could use another online form of payment I was familiar with and they agreed to let me use Venmo. Fortunately, the night of the morning I paid 1,200.00 I was going through my beloved pictures of my soon to be kitten and just happened to notice a very small red flag. As much as the kitten in the video looked very similar to the one in the video, I noticed one of the mitten colors was different. There's no way it could've been the same cat. So I panicked, emailed them for my money return until I could get further proof. While I could not find anything about their scam through google or here on BBB, I did find a facebook comment in the rag doll cat group about this company and that they had officially lost well over 1,000.00 to them, saying it totally broke them. The emails did not just stop, rather the person got very defensive and unprofessional and tried to use scare tactics, threatening to "slap a lawsuit on me for slander." I contacted Venmo support and they claimed they would not be able to get my money back, seeing that I already approved the payment. Through the miracle of God, I received an email late the next day that Venmo was able to pull my money back before the scammer could accept the money through their bank. I got VERY lucky to notice the small red flag scammer on my own, and then get the money pulled back in time. Had this been through Zelle or Wire transfer, the money would be permanently lost right away. BE CAREFUL out there! Do not be afraid to ask your breeder to call them, facetime them, or ask for proof of being a registered breeder (and of course follow up with the association to make sure the claim is true). Stay safe out there and much love to everyone!
