I was contacted by a company calling themselves MPN Pro. They said they were in the merchant banking services business. They needed someone in my state to act as an ISO to refer businesses to MPN Pro who want to switch the company they pay credit card fees to when their customers make a credit card transaction. It was very elaborate and sounded very legitimate as there are other businesses out there like them. They said they worked directly with Visa/MC. I paid $996 to obtain the "Platinum Package" which promised me an "ISO License", a website in which to advertise to local businesses, and someone to guide me through the first few weeks. They said I would just have to refer businesses to their company by going around and getting local businesses to call MPN Pro to switch their merchant services provider. I would get residuals off of what MPN Pro made from the credit card terminal fees at the business. I communicated with about 4 different individuals during this process; the recruiter (Jim Buckner), website development (Katie), payment verification department (Nicole), and the payment processor (Eric Wilkes). Each one was in sync with the whole thing. I have communicated with Eric Wilkes by email asking for a refund, but he never delivered on the promise to refund my money. All phone numbers I was given are either not answered or not in service anymore; 302-257-2083, 302-364-6444 & 302-287-2864. The 302-257-2083 goes right to voicemail and says they are "Advantage Merchant Solutions".
