Sent a letter in the mail with my mortgage company’s information and what looks to be a check for $199 for “allocated waiver”. They have my mortgage information, my name, my home address and at the top it states FINAL NOTICE. It says “we reserve the right to revoke allocated waiver after 7 days of receiving this notice. Please call IMMEDIATELY and this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU”. There is no identification of the actual name of the business sending this as it appears they want to make it look like it’s coming from my lender. They also have what appears to be a “home ID” with some official looking ID number which I’m sure is meaningless. There is also no email listed here I just put some random email because the form would not allow me to advance without one. After looking at it for several minutes I did notice at the very bottom of the fake check it states “not affiliated with *mortgage company name* THIS IS NOT A CHECK”.
