2. Afterwards, I responded on March 11, and logged on to Bitrix24 on the same day (the CRM he provided the link to), and continued the chat over there:
Fernando: "Good morning Kazi, how you doing today hope you're doing well and thanks for connecting with me it's good to have you on here.
I'll schedule your interview session on March 14 at 10am EST kindly make yourself available during that
Be advise this will be a live chat interactive interview instant communication session on here immediately after the interview if you're shortlisted you will be contacted via email with a direct call to keep you updated"
3. I also emailed him on March 11 confirming the interview through Bitrix24, to which he responded:
"Hi Kazi
Thank you for your email. You have unread messages on Bitrix your interview has been scheduled for March 14 kindly make yourself available during that time.
I look forward to hearing from you
Regards"
4. On the same day, I got emails from Bitrix24 asking to register on their software. When I entered the software, I noticed there's a list of other potential 'candidates', who I suspect have either been duped into the fraud, or are fake profiles.
5. On March 12, I got another email, the same as the very first interview invitation email, but from a different address: "[email protected]". Notice the extra "r" in hyster, which is not how the company spells its name, or its domain. It's also different from the first email ID: "[email protected]"
6. Today on Mar 14, I had an interview chat on Bitrix 24. It was supposed to last for 30 mins, but ended up lasting for 2 hours instead. His language seemed unprofessional filled with a lot of grammatical error. When I called at the start of the interview, he didn't answer. At one point during the interview, I asked him to clarify the job role, he deflected. Then he said he'd shortlist me and follow up immediately after the interview with a call. He didn't do that. When I asked him whether my candidacy would be confirmed after training, he said no, and that he'd instead have an offer for me upon calling me today at 4:30 ET. He also mentioned he'd give money to my bank for setting up my home office, abruptly and all of a sudden. He also offered a $71/hr remuneration, and $30/hr rumeneration during the training. Also provided this no.: 770-783-4643.

This is the email I received and the email @ did seem legit. After doing research on the company and seeing the job post on the company website, I decided to just go forward with it to see what happens. I created an account on the britix24 app and then had an interview. I assumed it would be over a phone call or video call, but then he proceeds to tell me it was over a live chat. That was my first red flag, but I still did it to investigate the legitimacy (or lack thereof) of the person. Afterward, he made it seem like I got the job and said he'd call me after 2 hours. I proceeded to research more about this guy and found out that he was indeed scamming people and I decided to send links to everyone on the app dashboard saying that this was a scam to make sure they don't fall into the trap.

It seemed suspicious, however, after doing research I learned that the company indeed exists and the role that was suggested for hire also exists on the company website. I created an account through Bitrix24.com as requested and conducted an interview all via messaging. I thought it odd that it was through messaging only, but the verbiage was this was part of the shortlisted process. So I assumed it a pre-screening. After the interview, Kulkarni said they would set up a phone call as well as send documents over for me to review. I also thought this odd seeing as shortlisted means there's more to the interview process, but he seemed to be offering me the job. Sure enough I receive a phone call saying he had sent the offer letter and should send back my information to begin training the next day. Below is the offer email I received:
We are pleased to confirm your being employed by our firm in the
capacity of (PROJECT MANAGER) below is attached employment document fill
sign and send back with a valid ID front/back. I will be your supervisor
and I'll be handling your training.
Kind regards

I ended the call and decided to sit on the offer as something still didn't seem right about the timeline and the information provided. When I communicated via the messaging app that I would need 3-5 business days to respond to the offer, he became pushy and requested if I there was anything else I needed to accept the position. I did not respond to the chat, and he called me a second time to which I did not answer the call. His response to my need for time let me know that this was a scam.
Additional red flags were grammatical errors in the interview messaging as well as the "offer letter". Included with the offer letter was a direct deposit form to be completed as well as a request for the front and back scan of my driver's license. There was also promise of sending money to purchase equipment and software for my "work from home office". I decided to check with the ScamPulse.com for any similar scams and there are others that have had similar experiences to mine. So I decided to report. Attached is the scam offer letter.
