I was contacted by a Julia A on Upwork to interview for a freelance graphic designer position at MTU Aero Engines. The interview was on zoom chat and they asked questions about my portfolio and working remote history. After asking how long I planned on staying on with the company if I were to be hired, she then congratulated me and stated what my duties will be. She proceeded to say that they would be sending a check to me so that I can buy supplies to work from home, including an iMac. The she how I wanted to get paid and to send my name, address, and phone number to this weird email address. That is when I knew it was a scam. I asked if I would receive official forms from the company and told me after the interview, but made it seem like I had the job already.

Went through the same process - they sent me the check and I received it, but my bank didn't accept it and charged it back. The scammers are still trying to send me another check though, oddly enough. Sucks, I really needed the position and the pay they were "offering".
