My Payment Help Center Reports & Reviews (5)

Jan 29th of this year I was told that I would need to make three payments of 233.00 for the next three months and nothing for the rest of the year. Thinking I was communicating with Great Lakes affiliates and gave my info.. the took 699.00 from my account and now I'm left stuck without my money...

This place of business claims they consolidated my student loans. They did not indicate they were a separate institution from navient.
They led me to believe they were working for navient. I should have known after they demanded $206 for three months, then 48.00 thereafter, based on my income.

Just recently, around November 2021 I was contacted by my payment help. I thought they were the payment center for Navient. I didn’t know these people were a separate intity whom prey on navient loans . They claimed they could save me money by combining my loans with a cheaper payment. All I had to do was pay three separate payments of 206.00 then 48.00 monthly. So far I’ve paid two payments with a third coming out in February. I got to thinking about this more, as the recent developments with student loan forgiveness and the issues with forebearance. I called several times to my payment help and asked about the forebearance and forgiveness issues. I also explained that I attended a profit school, and the school is no longer in business and that a new school name has taken its place. I told them that we were scammed by the school promising postitions in the field which we chose as careers. Our loans were also inflated and later put in forebearance for multiple years.
The women on the phone said that I signed a contract with them, and my complaints are not valid. She said there company purchased my loans and I’m required to pay said loans of excess 22,000. My original loans did not exceed 15,000. As one can see, forebearance has inflated my loans to astronomical amount. I’ve been lied to ever since I began school at Apollo college, and are still being lied to.
Furthermore, this company’ My loan help center claims they purchased my loans from navient ( sallie mae’) and I’m no longer illlegible for loan forgiveness because of the type of loans I have. Last I knew my loans were traditional student loans, and I’ve been scammed for thinking otherwise.
I can’t really afford an attorney but I sure as hell am speaking with one now!

I got a call about student loan consolidation and debt forgiveness. I figured I would call my loan provider, so I googles the #. I clicked on the first # for them that popped up. I called and was on hold. The woman asked for my name and DOB, and had my address that I confirmed. She then asked for my SSN, which I asked "Is that necessary?" and she assured me she had to see what loans I have active. So I gave it to her. As soon as I did, I felt that I made a mistake. She told me how many student loans and the amounts I had, which was accurate. She told me some BS about how my payment can be lowered to $75/mo and how the remaining balance would be forgiven after 10 years, While she was telling me this, I got a notice on my phone that my FSA password was changed. I asked her about it, and she said that's her, and she needed to access my accounts to see if I qualify. I hung up. She called back, and tried to get my credit card info to start the new loan process. She told me that I would need to pay 3 payments of $235, and fill out 1 form and send in 2 paystubs, and she was going to email me them (at my correct email that she had, probably gotten from my FSA account). I told her I would call back later because I was nervous, and she said "I don't know why, I told you everything you wanted to hear". I hung up. Changed my FSA passwords and filed a fraud block on my credit/SSN.

My Payment Help Center posed as Great Lakes Borrowing and I unknowingly hired them to help sign me up for the student loan forgiveness program. On 4/29/2021 I called an 800 number who I thought to be my student loan borrowing agency Great Lakes to inquire about the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. I thought I was on the phone with a Great Lakes representative, but I was not! I am furious because these people have my social security number and a lot of my personal information. I want them to get my name out of their system and take me off of their "repayment plan". I want them to delete my social and take no further action. I want my information deleted completely. Lastly, I would like a full refund.
