Type of a scam Employment
I 1st saw an ad for the position on Indeed, so I thought it was legitimate; I applied, and eventually got an email offering an interview process, from someone posing as a James Russell, Chief Product Officer at My PT Hub Ltd
Burgess Hill, GB. I was instructed by this person, that due to Covid, all of the interview process would be via an app called "WIRE" which does chat/instant/phone/video messaging. We went through an interview process, all in chat, which I have a copy of. I was eventually told that I would be receiving a call from a Tom Livings concerning the interview, and after a few days I did receive a call from someone posing as Tom telling me that my interview had gone well, & that I was being offered the position. I then receive an email from James welcoming me aboard, with 4 attachments, an "Offer Letter", an employee "Code of Conduct" document, a W-4, and a banking document for salary direct deposit payments. After the completion of the exchange of this information, I was handed off to a "Supervisor" for further onboarding and "paid" training, a Mrs. Hannah Lydford; who took over the chat sessions, which I have copies of. Now, along with some other onboarding activities and exercises, the concentration turned to me getting some high end mobile devices needed for my employment; which would be reimbursed to me. It would take a couple of days for me to arrange getting the devices ordered through my post paid account with AT&T, but I eventually had the devices in my possession and now all of a sudden, I'm being asked to send them thru UPS to a secondary shipper with a very suspicious shipping waiver for "Software Configuration"??? It's now that I realize the "Red Flags" which were overcome by hope & the prospects of a real company, have been realized as warranted, because, I'm being scammed. I let the person posing as Mrs. Lydford know that unless & until I received more concrete evidence of actual employment that I wouldn't be moving forward with any shipment of mobile devices...I suggested a video call/conference with her and James; suffice it to say, I haven't heard a thing since.
