Type of a scam Tech Support
I ended up talking to a rep from what it sounded like Microsoft. He showed me “my” computer screen that showed problems that would continue to multiply. He offered 3 different plans to fix my computer and provide protection. He said I did not need MacAfee or any other protection. I choose the lifetime one for $399.00 and charged it to my MasterCard. This was something that needed fixed right away he told me.
I asked for a detailed description of what this plan covered and he assured me that he would send it.
After giving him remote access which he said he needed to remove all these problems, I became suspicious. I am a senior citizen and have never experienced anything like this. I usually use my Apple cell phone to surf the web.
Shortly after I was finished with him I sent an email to cancel this because it was a scam.
He sent an email saying ok that he would call me. What I wanted was an email so that I could have documentation. I have not received a refund and promptly notified my credit card with Sam’s Club and Synchrony’s bank. I filed a complaint with them the following day.
